THAILAND | BANGKOK TRAVEL VLOG 2016 [PART 1] (Click for detailed itinerary) \r
\r
Its been a while since I last posted on YouTube! Ive recently travelled back to Hong Kong to visit some friends and family and decided to take a short trip to Bangkok with my mum and brother! It was an absolute blast and I hope you guys will enjoy the vlogs as much as Ive enjoyed my trip! :)\r
\r
Hotel: Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn\r
(.)\r
Probably one of the nicest hotels Ive ever stayed at in my life! It is conveniently located next to a BTS (Skytrain) station and the room, view, food and service was amazing!\r
\r
Detailed Itinerary:\r
\r
1) The Grand Palace\r
\r
We took the Chao Phraya Express Boat to the Grand Palace! It was extremely crowded and hot but it was definitely worth the visit! The architecture and the glamour was truly impressive! Try to avoid going midday as that is when all the tour groups tend to go! Ive read that they do have a couple of tourist scams that happen near the Grand Palace so be careful of that and only buy your tickets at the official ticket office!\r
\r
2) Wat Pho\r
\r
Minutes away from the Grand Palace, Wat Pho is also known as the reclining Buddha! The architecture is very similar to the Grand Palace but Wat Pho offers something different! There are a lot of temples in Wat Pho but the most famous one is the Reclining Buddha! You really have to see it for yourself because I dont think any video/photo can really do it justice.\r
\r
3) Wat Arun\r
\r
We took the Chao Phraya Express Boat to the opposite side of the river (legit took 2 minutes) and arrived at Wat Arun! This temple is unique in the way that it is the only temple that is built to that height and shape! Most temples are not tall but are very wide. We didnt go into the temple because we visited quite a number of temples that day but the scenery and the environment is definitely worth checking out!\r
\r
4) Khao San Road\r
\r
The party street! We had dinner at a place called the Macaroni Club and I do not recommend it AT ALL. Please avoid this place because it really is just designed for tourists and not only was the food terrible but it was quite pricey too! Instead, head to the side street of Khao San Road - Rambuttri for authentic street food! The Pad Thai we had was absolutely delicious and it was extremely cheap! \r
\r
If you like to party, make sure you get one of the buckets at any of the bars/clubs here! This is truly the Thai version of Bourbon Street in New Orleans! You can get cheap souvenirs, a foot massage (which is amazing), and enjoy cheap alcohol and loud music! I do think that it is worth checking out even if youre not big on nightlife because it is still quite a unique experience! \r
